Raymond Mazza
VP - Master Printer

Ray began printmaking in 1974, having studied under Seong Moy and Michael Delemonico. Among the printmakers with whom he has worked, he was in the studio of the Arts Students’ League from 1974 to 1994, in the Atelier of Eleanor Ettinger from 1977 to 1996, and in the S 2 Editions Atelier of Jack & Carolyn Solomon from 1996 to present. Ray also mentored young printmakers as an educator at the Art Students’ League from 1994 to 1996.

Among the artists he has assisted as printer are: Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol, Bob Peak, Raphael Soyer, Robert McGinnis, Richard Hass, Dr. Seuss, Anthony Quinne, Peter Falk, Tony Bennett, Jeffery Holder, and Alice Neel. Ray has worked on projects affiliated with the Olympics, 1982 French Open, Hirshorn Museum, Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, Smithsonian in Washington, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Metropolitan Museum in New York, MoMa New York, Moscow State Museum, and the estates of Alphonse Mucha, James Dean, James Ensor, Vicotor Vasarely.

In addition, he has worked with many domestic and international galleries. Ray’s work for S 2 Editions is as its Master Printer in its lithography atelier. Working with hands-on techniques, images are drawn and printed using antique Marinoni Voirin flatbed presses. The overall process is diligently crafted by artisans of S 2 Editions, under Ray’s direction.
